A sizeable battleship and spacecraft carrier, Battlestar Galactica was part of the Twelve Colonies' defense fleet until a savage attack by the robotic Cylon race virtually destroyed those settlements. Under Commander Adama, Galactica led a ragtag fleet of ships and survivors in search of a new home on a legendary thirteenth colony called Earth.
