How do I create my own shop?

From the home page, click “Start Selling.” After registering, you will have the ability to both buy ornaments and set up your own shop. Go to “My Account” and click “My Shop” to edit the details about your shop. We suggest you upload an image for your shop, create a description, and list your shop’s policies regarding shipping and returns. Shop owners are responsible for their transactions and shipping details.

We encourage users to upload photos for their products and upload a photo to their store page (this is so your shop page doesn’t just show the default basket photo and creates a more personalized feel).

How do I add for sale items to my shop page?

After you set up your shop, on the My Account page, under My Shop, there will be a link called Items. Click on this and you will be given the option to create items. Please list the item’s box number in the item name. You will be given the option to set the price, category, and to write a description about the item. We also encourage you to upload pictures for your items! 

How do I get item images to display properly?

There are two types of images, the main image associated with your item and alternative images that will appear in the item’s gallery. Make sure you are using the main image uploader when you create a new item. Please see the diagram below for more information. Once you click the main image uploader button, you will need to find your item’s image on your computer.

How do I let people know about my shop?

We encourage users to use social media (FaceBook, Twitter, etc.) to spread the word about their shops and the Marketplace. Simply go to your shop page and copy the website link at the top of your browser and share it with your friends! Please see the image below to find out where your shop’s link is in your browser.

How is shipping calculated?

Shipping is currently set to a flat rate of $5/item. This means if you sell one ornament, shipping will be $5.00. If you sell two items, shipping will be $10.00 and so on. We are exploring options to allow more flexible shipping classes. If you don’t know the exact cost of shipping, we suggest you use eBay’s shipping calculator, which can be accessed at this link and then account for the $5 flat rate in the listing price of your ornament in the shop.

If you have more than one ornament in a listing (ex: a lot of 3 ornaments) the flat shipping rate will only charge $5 for shipping. So it’s important you include shipping costs in your listing price.

How do sellers withdraw their earnings?

To submit a withdrawal request, click My Account from the top right of the website, and then click “My Earnings” from the the My Account Menu. You will be asked how much you want to withdraw and you will be prompted to enter the email address associated with your PayPal account. Withdrawal requests are processed once a week. This system is in place to protect customers and prevent fraud.

Are there transaction fees?

Yes, the YuleLog Marketplace charges 5% per transaction. This rate is half of what eBay charges (10%). We charge this because there is a good amount of work that goes into maintaining the Marketplace.
